Source and screen Place of Safety Parents;
Compile a register of Place of Safety Parents and outsource available parents to welfare organisations;
Secure abandoned babies from hospitals and police stations and place the child with a suitable family;
Liaise with welfare organizations to formally act as a support system and coordinating body to them;
Admit babies and toddlers by placing them, after proper evaluation, with the most suitable family;
Support the Place of Safety families with general baby and child care (addressing traumatized children, developmental problems, various syndromes and immunizations);
Support the Place of Safety families by distribution of donations;
Give medical support to the Place of Safety families by negotiating services free of charge from general practitioners, pediatricians, occupational therapists and various other professionals;
Assist parents looking after HIV+ children on an emotional and physical level by training and updating parents' knowledge. We also monitor the progress of the disease closely, give advice on diet and medication and arrange regular blood tests;
Follow-up with social workers involved on the progress of every placement and explain statutory processes to Place of Safety parents;
Present a basic baby care course to all new Place of Safety Parents and Adoptive Parents as well as regular workshops and training sessions on a variety of subjects;
Run an immunization clinic on a monthly basis at our offices;
Run various fund-raising and promotional initiatives with the assistance of volunteers.
